Like many things in life, participating with friends in a supportive group is much easier - together we can accomplish more. That’s the philosophy behind CASA’s Giving Clubs. The children CASA serve need you and your friends to work together in becoming a Giving Club. Each Giving Club sets a goal of supporting CASA and the children we serve at a predetermined level for one to five years. Led by the Club Chair, instead of one person alone, the group aims to reach a higher level together through individual donations, workplace gifts, and other efforts to achieve the Club’s annual goal. Advocating for each abused and/or neglected child in the court system costs CASA of Franklin County $1,000 a year. While other children are playing, enjoying school, and joining clubs, CASA children are in unsafe homes and in the court system due to abuse and neglect. They need a voice in court and that is where CASA comes in by providing trained community volunteers as Guardians ad litem. Current CASA Giving Clubs Kid Club Level – Twins Club Level – The Sarah and Mary B Club – Captain, Lorraine Siegworth “Named in honor of the club captain’s nieces (not twins but very special)” Family Club Level – $10,000 Club Level - * We have reserved the naming of our $10,000 level club in honor of the first group to achieve this goal! Maybe it could be you, your friends, and your family members! HOW TO FORM A GIVING CLUB: 1) Choose a Club Captain: It’s not a popularity contest. Since you’re taking the time to read this, maybe it’s YOU. This person will commit to recruiting others to join the club and conveying the importance of CASA of Franklin County’s work. It will involve asking others to get involved and give money or to become volunteers for CASA. 2) Name your Club. This can be in honor of one person, something that unites all your club members (sorority/fraternity alumni, neighborhood block, all friends of a certain person, a Ya-Ya sisterhood group, etc.). 3) Decide your Giving Club’s goals. What level can your group can friends achieve or aim for?
4) Reaching Your Club Goal: How you will reach your goal?
5) Start Your Club – Working with CASA, complete the attached form and set up the tracking of your club and your goal. Set an “annual” club anniversary date by which you’ll reach your club goal each year and then begin the important work of helping abused and neglected children.
