The YWCA today reaches more than 40,000 women, men, and children in the Greater Columbus area through strategically planned programs designed to meet critical community needs. Guided by its vision of the empowerment of women and the elimination of racism, the YWCA strives to ensure peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people. 

 

PROGRAMS and SERVICES...

  • The YWCA Early Learning Center provides full-day childcare for all children ages six weeks to five years old.

  • Safe & Sound cares for homeless children, ages six weeks to five years, in the Columbus community.

  • Middle School After-School Program provides a safe and caring environment during non-school hours as an alternative to being home alone and unsupervised. There are currently six programs operating in Columbus Public Schools. The programs are held during after-school hours and the summer.

  • School Age Child Care

  • African Beginnings is an African dance and history program geared to boys and girls ages six to 18 who are interested in learning cultural dance, percussion, and history. 

  • Bright Futures is an expansion of the YWCA Women of Achievement program. Eleventh-grade female students from all Franklin County high schools are recognized for their accomplishments.

  • Double Dutch is a competitive jump rope program for girls and boys ages nine to 18 years.
